Burgas is the best city for sport

Burgas won a prize for its sports politics in the competition "The best city for living in Bulgaria". The prize was given to the mayor Dimitar Nikolov during an official ceremony in Sofia. It was given to him by the Minister of sports Krasen Kralev.

The jury of the competition awarded Burgas for the fast developing sports infrastructure and the municipal support for the local clubs. The prize comes in the year, when Burgas is chosen as the "European city of sports".

One of the newest and most valuable assets of the city is the Student palace of sport, which opened doors several months ago. It has a three stories high frame with a swiming pool and halls for different sports, built entierly for the needs of the students of Burgas. During 2015 Municipality Burgas finances over 100 different sports clubs.
