Indian exhibition in the Casino will be opened on Monday

The exhibition “Speculativeness – masters of Indian figurative painting” will be presented from the 30th of March to 15th of April in hall “Georgi Baev” in cultural center “Sea casino”. It is devoted to the 60 year anniversary of the begging of the diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and India. The organizers are Municipality Burgas, Indologic foundation “East – West”, the embassy of Republic of India and the Indian council for cultural relations.

The entrance for the exhibition is free of charge. The exhibition will be open for visit in Monday after 10.30 a.m. It contains 29 prints of high quality from leading Indian authors from the beginning of the 20th century.

“Art is one of the best mediators. Through it people learn more about the different cultures in world – from the music, movies, paitings, made thousands of kilometers away from their home country. Art makes life on the planet easier to understand, it builds a bridge between traditions. It tells stories, concerning religion around the world and by doing this it shortens the distances between the nations.” – These were the words used to describe the exhibition by His Excellency mr. Radjesh Kumar Sachdeva, ambassador of Republic of India in Bulgaria.

 

The exhibition is visiting the biggest Bulgarian cities. Curator is the famous painter Anjolie Ila Menon. She picked digital imprints on canvas by fourteen masters of the figurative painting from 20th and 21st century. The exhibition is traveling around the world since 2008 and introduces to the broad public the specifics of Indian modern painting. The figurative form in the contemporary Indian art is presented in the works of some of the most renowned Indian painters, who have been acknowledged by the international art community. The originals of the paintings are kept in the biggest galleries and museums of India, Great Britain, France, Japan and others.
