Centuries ago, well-made glass objects were extremely expensive items of luxury. They were owned only by the aristocracy, wealthy merchants and the high clergy in medieval Europe.

This summer near Burgas was discovered part of the largest sunken glass treasure on our Black Sea coast.

Archaeologists have known for years that divers have found similar artifacts here, but the exact location wasn`t sure. Their assumptions focused on the waters of Chengene Scele Bay, near Cape Chiroza. Among the finds from the seabed are dozens of pieces of glass objects of exceptional quality. Several of them were shown today at a press conference in the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum.
