I'm waiting for you at the "Troikata"! Every citizen of Burgas has uttered these words at least once.
"Troikata" Square in Burgas is perhaps the most emblematic place for the people of Burgas, but few know where its name comes from. The creation of the square is connected with the modern urban planning of the city from the end of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century it was a market center, such was its name. On this square for the citizens of Burgas was declared the independence of Bulgaria on September 22, 1908. In 1934 in the center of the square was erected a high pillar with 3 lighting fixtures, which gives its present name - "Troikata".
Nowadays, the square is often the scene of various city celebrations and fairs.
