117 years since the opening of the Port of Bourgas

On May 18, 1903, in the presence of Prince Ferdinand I, the first modern Bulgarian seaport was solemnly opened for commercial shipping. Cannon salutes mark this date, which puts the start of the gradual economic growth of Burgas, making it one of the main regions of the country and a gateway to the world.

Today, the port of Burgas processes goods and cargo that serve the economies of Southeastern Bulgaria, neighboring Balkan countries and all Black Sea countries. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in cargo turnover in the port area, which shows its importance. The predetermined good future of the port of Burgas after its opening to the city is expressed in the expansion of its functionality through the modern Sea Station, the renovated "Magazia 1" with areas for recreation and entertainment, a center for cabotage and the branch of the National Academy of Arts, the spectacular Traffic. tower, the renovated Marina Port Burgas, the visitor center "Tower of the lighthouse keeper".

The port has become a new and favorite place to walk and relax. The change of the port of Burgas continues - the ship berths and technical infrastructure are constantly renewed, the equipment of the new Congress Center is completed, the Children's Science Center with a planetarium is almost ready, and the Zone accessible to citizens expands its borders and will be part of the central urban environment.

On the festive day Port of Burgas opens for visitors the visitor center "Tower of the lighthouse keeper" from 10:00 to 16:00. The visits will be carried out in compliance with the anti-epidemic measures.
