On the Saturday before Easter Orthodox Christians celebrate Lazarovden. This year the date of the feast is on April 20.

St. Lazarus Day is a Christian holiday that is named after St. Lazarus. It is celebrated on the 8th day before Easter, the day of St. Lazarus. The name Lazarus is a symbol of health and longevity. St. Lazarus Day falls each year on a different date, but always on Saturday and is one of the most beautiful spring holidays for young girls.

How was the holiday celebrated in the past and how it`s marked nowadays, will tell Plamena Kirova, head of Ethnography Department at the Burgas Museum. Her lecture is scheduled for April 13 at 11.30 am at the Ethnographic Museum at 69 "Slavyanska" Str.

The entrance fee for the lecture is preferential - for adults 2 BGN and for students and pensioners - 1 BGN.
