With an exhibition and concert we celebrate 141 years since the Liberation of Burgas

On February 6 we celebrate 141 years since the liberation of Burgas from the Ottoman rule. On this memorable day in 1878 the soldiers of Colonel Alexander Lermontov enter the town. Since then every year the grateful generations show their tribute to the liberators. 

Burgas Municipality invites all citizens of Burgas to participate in the celebrations of the Liberation of Burgas, which will start at 11:00 am with the ritual of raising the national flag and the flags of the city and the European Union. A prayer for the prosperity of Burgas will be served by the local Orthodox clergy.

At 11:30 am will be laid wreaths and flowers in memory of those who died for the Liberation at the Monument of the Russian Liberators, at the plate of a gen. Lermontov and at the monument of the Russian infirmary in the Sea Park.

On the occasion of the holiday in the Historical Museum (31 "Lermontov" Str.), an impressive photo exhibition will be opened, revealing the history and creation of "Shipka" National Park Museum. Traditionally, at 12:30 on "Atanas Sirekov" Square will be a festive folklore concert, and later at 18:00,in the  Home of the writer will be the performance "Freedom - Creative Inspiration", based on a scenario by Georgi Raykov.
