Center for Jewish-Bulgarian Cooperation "Alef" makes a creative challenge with the forthcoming edition of the National Literary Competition "Who saved one human life, saves a whole universe". This time the young authors will have to mix reality with imagination and tell stories of love and friendship between Bulgarians and Jews.

The National Literature Contest is held for the sixth consecutive year with the cooperation of the Municipality of Burgas. For the first time this year it "enters" at the university. In addition to students from the 8th to the 12th grade, students from the whole country, aged 19 to 25, will be able to participate in the creative competition.

The theme of the sixth edition of the competition is: "To love despite ...". The task of the participants is to write an artistic story about love, friendship, understanding, mutual help and self-sacrifice between Bulgarians and Jews. Heroes can be both real people or plots that are based on an actual case and are completely born of the imagination.

On the basis of reading in textbooks and books seen in a movie or in a museum taught by people who have experienced war, holocaust, and other human trials, young writers have to create their own history. Art stories should not exceed 5 pages. The deadline for their receipt is March 1, 2019, by e-mail at center.alef@gmail.com or at Burgas 8000, "Baba Ganka" Square, 4th floor- Center "Alef".
