Bulgaria hosts the World Civilization Congress, organized by the World Tourism Organization at the United Nations

15 and November 16, 2018 Bulgaria will host the second International Congress of world civilizations and historical routes organized by the World Tourism Organization (WTO) to the United Nations. It will be held in Sofia in "Sofia Hotel Balkan".

The Forum in Sofia will host over 500 participants from Bulgaria and other countries - ministers and tourism managers, representatives of the public and private sector in the industry and related industries, internationally recognized experts in the field of culture and cultural heritage protection. During the discussions will be discussed common initiatives for development of cultural and historical tourism as well as measures for preservation and promotion of the material and spiritual wealth of mankind from antiquity to the present day.

Within the framework of the event, the Ministry of Tourism organizes a two-day tourist exhibition at the Ancient Cultural and Communication Complex "Serdica" (area Largo), in which the Municipality of Burgas will participate. Representatives of municipal enterprises "Tourism" and "Sea signs" will present cultural and historical sights and the natural beauty of the region, and souvenirs with traditional Bulgarian embroidery and sea motifs. These were used as gifts for delegates during the Bulgarian EU Presidency.
