Mummers conquer the city center

Today from 17.00 the initiative "BurgasLikesYouth" organizes a mummer demonstration. The noisy and colorful procession will start from the Compass on the main street and will end in front of the building of Burgas Municipality. It aims to create a mood among the passers-by and to show that there is an attractive alternative to Halloween`s personalities.

The popular worldwide annual masquerade on October 31 today is more for fun, but in the past it aimed to frighten evil spirits. Such symbolism has the Bulgarian mummers' ritual. It scares the winter demons and makes them go away faster.

In the demonstration will take part Burgas Mummer group "Kavaklii" and students from "BurgasLikesYouth".
