The European Statistics Agency Eurostat has identified the Bulgarian city of Burgas as one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. The agency has determined which are the most popular destinations on the basis of statistics for air passengers traveling to their countries.
Most Russian tourists used the airport in the coastal city. 183 thousand passengers have flown to the two airports in the Russian capital Moscow - Sheremetyovo and Domodedovo. Secondly, nearly 50 thousand are the Belarusian holidaymakers that went home with a flight to Minsk. According to the data, many Polish tourists are going home from their holiday from the airport in Burgas.
Burgas is among the most visited places along with Israel's capital Tel Aviv.
