FRENCH EXHIBITION SHOWS A TWO HUNDRED YEARS MAP OF BURGAS BAY

On the occasion of the 25 years of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in Burgas will be presented an exhibition "European rediscovery of the Black Sea. French Ties". The exhibition will be arranged in the renewed "Magazia 1"of Port of Burgas - the symbolic sea door of Bulgaria.

The opening will be on July 28, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. Organizers of the event are the Diplomatic Institute with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the International Trade and Cultural Center GEOPAN - Burgas. The exposition is in Burgas with the assistance of the District Administration, the Municipality of Burgas, "Port Burgas" and under the special patronage of the State Enterprise "Port Infrastructure".

The exhibition will present to the public the results of cooperation between French and Bulgarians dating back centuries. Old geographic and sea maps of the French cartographic school, journals of travelers and diplomats, the first French consulate on the Bulgarian lands, the two major Bulgarian ports of Burgas and Varna, built by French builders.

In the exhibition, special attention is paid to the Port of Burgas. It is presented with four panels and the poster of the exhibition is the beautiful map of Burgas and Burgas Bay, made two hundred years ago by Frenchman Tébut de Marini. The place to present the exhibition is not accidental because the construction of the port of Burgas is connected with French port authorities, architects, engineers and constructors.
