
On May 18, the first modern Bulgarian port of Burgas celebrated 114 years since its opening for commercial shipping. Events dedicated to the anniversary will be concentrated in the renovated "Magazia 1", which after the reconstruction, has become the new maritime cultural center of the city.
Several accompanying initiatives are planned on the festive day. In one of the halls of "Magazia 1" on the first floor will be arranged two exhibitions. One is called "The Port - a Gate Through the Centuries". It includes 10 panes of photos and text that tells the story of each of the photographed objects in Bulgarian, Russian and English. The second photo exhibition "Port of Burgas - past, present and future" is initiated by the pensioners' club to the port and will be arranged in the same hall. A concert of folklore ensemble "Bulgarka" will begin at 12:00.
In May, several large cultural events are planned in "Magazia 1". On 25th from 18:00 in the halls of the second floor will be opened the exhibition "The Beginning", dedicated to 120 anniversary of the National Academy of Arts. The next day - 26th May, at 19:00, ат the same place, a concert will bring out the mixed choir "Ascon" from Lille, France. The organizer of the event is the Youth Cultural Center - Burgas.
