Festival of periwinkle` 2017

14th Periwinkle Festival this year will be held on 13 and 14 May in the vicinity of the village of Gramatikovo. The village is located 25 km from the town of Malko Tarnovo and in 74 km.from Burgas. It is one of the largest villages in the territory of Natural Park "Strandja".

The name of the village remains unchanged from its foundation until today. It is situated high above the river valley of Veleka. From there can be seen beautiful panoramas to Rezovo and the Turkish part of Strandja.

Symbol of Gramatikovo is a medieval gravestone, depicted with hand with a feather. Today it can be seen in the Historical Museum in the town of Malko Tarnovo.
57 years ago in of Gramatikovo is held the first in Bulgaria festival - singing competition "Strandja sings" which is considered the ancestor of today's fairs in Koprivshtitsa and Rozhen.
