The violinist Dimitar Ivanov is the winner of the award "Emil Chakarov"

The violinist Dimitar Ivanov is the fifth winner of the prize "Emil Chakarov" - named after the famous conductor, born in Burgas.

The prize will be awarded on September 8, from 20.00 in the Summer theater, when the official closing ceremony of Burgas musical holidays "Emil Chakarov" will be held. At the event will be premiere of the musical "Charlie's aunt" by Oscar Feltsman.

Ivanov is born on 16.03.1948 in Burgas, studied violin under Elena Genova and prof. Boyan Lechev. Laureate of the 2nd prize of the 4th Bulgarian competition for violinists and winner of diploma of international competition "Vianna da Motta", Portugal.

From 1971 is a violinist in the Sofia opera house, concertmaster of Sofia philharmonics, "Sofia soloists" and "Symphonieta" in Sofia.

In 1984 he became professor in the conservatory in Nagoya, Japan and concertmaster of Nagoya philharmonics and until 2013 is concertmaster of the Royal symphonic orchestra in Antwerp, Belgium.

His work together with Emil Chakarov in the youth orchestra of community center "V. Zaimov" - Sofia, orchestra "Symphonieta" Sofia and the Royal symphonic orchestra in Antwerp, Belgium.
