Burgas was chosen as a host of the European sailing championship in 2017

Yacht club "Port Burgas" along with Bulgarian sailing federation with the support of Municipality Burgas and Port Burgas won the hosting of the European sailing championship in class Optimist in 2017.

This became known yesterday after a council of the International association of class Optimist in city Dziwnow, Poland.

Burgas was chosen, because of the perfecto conditions, which the city offers at the best prices in Europe.

It is expected that in the European championship in class Optimist in 2017 in Burgas will participate around 250 boats, with over 250 competitors, from more than 35 countries.

The experience of Burgas in hosting the World youth championship in class 470 in 2007 and the Balkan championships in 2002 and 2010 and European championship for youths in class 420 and 470 helped immensely in choosing Burgas as host of the future event.
